The Horror.

What would convince you that it's a good idea to give a 15 minute speech when your time-limit is 8 minutes and it's 9:30 on Friday night? AND then, what would convince you - if you were a guest speaker - to give a 20 minute talk complete with self-serving little videos of your students being terribly witty and animations of chips being struck by light and to call for any questions from the audience afterwards when you began speaking at 9:45  on a Friday night? I thought that I was a little lacking in the life department but not to this extent...
